Who we are
McKenzie is the CEO of Brown Egg Homestead, she is most likely who you are speaking to when on our social media pages, consultations. or scheduling. She graduated with her business degree in January 2025 and started her company in March 2025.
Nick is the muscle behind our homestead. He makes our raised beds, hutches, brooder boxes and scones! He has the ability to create, adapt, and flow into different parts of the business easily.
We have dreamed of owning land, raising animals, and growing food for ourselves for years. However, when we went to view a potential property in 2024, we realized that we could start building our dream life in our backyard. We focused first on building community and strengthening our roots right where we were. We made raised beds, got a few chickens, and started learning as much as we could about homesteading.

We strive to build a community of people that want to be more self sufficient but not alone. Helping others to build their skills in homesteading areas like baking, gardening, and livestock right in their backyards.
